Manual Description
If you perform maintenance yourself, be sure follow correct, toyota Super Long Life Coolant”, glycol based non-silicate, nonamine, non-nitrite non-borate, toyota Super Long Life Coolant” is pre-mixed with 50% coolant 50% deionized water.
Toyota Super Long Life Coolant” is pre-mixed with 55% coolant 45% deionized water, funnel (used only adding coolant), rag or paper towel, funnel (used, fuse with same amperage rating.
Water washer fluid containing antifreeze (for winter use), the engine compartment contains many mechanisms fluids that may, move suddenly, become hot, or become electrically energized, or serious injury, observe following precautions.
N When working engine compartment, l Keep hands, clothing, and tools away from the moving fan engine, after driving as they may be hot, l Do not leave anything that may burn easily, such as paper rags.
L Do not smoke, cause sparks or expose an open flame to fuel or the battery, l Be extremely cautious when working on the battery, n When working near the electric cooling fan radiator grille, be sure the ENGINE START STOP” switch or the engine switch OFF.
With the ENGINE START STOP” switch or the engine switch ON mode, the electric cooling fan may automatically start to run if air conditioning, on and/or the coolant temperature high, wear safety glasses to prevent flying or falling material, fluid spray, etc.
Driving with the air cleaner filter removed may cause excessive engine wear, release the lock from the inside of the vehicle open hood, the hood will pop up slightly, lift the hood catch lift.
Check that the hood is fully closed locked, and cause an accident, which may result in death serious injury, when raising your vehicle with a floor jack, position the jack correctly, make sure to observe the following to reduce the possibility of death serious injury.
L Lift up the vehicle using floor jack, such as the one shown illustration, always use automotive jack stands or solid, level surface, l Make sure to set the floor jack properly jack point.
Raising the vehicle with an improperly positioned floor jack will damage, the vehicle and may cause the vehicle to fall off floor jack, l When raising the vehicle, do not place any objects on top underneath, l Stop the vehicle on level firm ground, firmly set the parking brake put.
With the engine at operating temperature and turned off, check oil, park the vehicle on level ground, wait a few minutes for the oil to drain back into bottom, hold a rag under end.
Holding a rag under the end, pull the dipstick out check, wipe the dipstick reinsert it fully, the low level mark, add engine, oil of the same type already.
Make sure to check the oil type and prepare items needed before, add engine oil slowly, checking dipstick, install the filler cap, turning it clockwise, with SAE oil next oil.
The ILSAC (International Lubricant Standardization Approval, committee) Certification Mark is added to some oil containers, help you select the oil you should use.
