They deploy along the front door side windows to protect occupants in the event of a severe side impact. Do not cover the seatback with any items such as clothes or accessories. Both the air bags and seat belts are integral parts of the same protection system.
The seat belt alone when parking or stopping would not provide suitable protection. Switch the ignition off then on again to reset the airbag in accordance with the lock position. For the first few miles after pressing the reset key you will notice that the range increases as you travel.
The distance remaining until the next oil change can therefore decrease more quickly in some cases than the actual distance travelled. They disappear when the display selection key is pressed or after several seconds and are stored in the computer log. You should make other road users aware of your vehicle by using a warning triangle or other equipment specified by the road traffic regulations of the country you are driving in.
