Electronic engine immobiliser: All of the keys contain an electronic immobiliser device. This device locks the engine supply system. It is activated automatically when the key is removed from the ignition.
When the ignition switch is turned on, a dialogue is set up between the key and the electronic immobiliser. The metal part of the key must be correctly unfolded to ensure a good connection.
