Manual Description
(SRS) AIR BAG” and SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER” 2, precautions for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) AIR BAG” SEAT, the Supplemental Restraint System such as AIR BAG” and SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER”, used along, with a front seat belt, helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger certain.
System uses the seat belt switches to determine the front air bag deployment, and may only deploy one front, air bag, depending on the severity of a collision and whether the front occupants belted unbelted, information necessary to service the system safely is included in the SRS and SB section Service Manual, to avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury death.
Improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead to personal injury caused by unintentional activation of the system, do not use electrical test equipment on any circuit related to the SRS unless instructed, the actual shapes of Kent-Moore tools may differ from those of special service tools illustrated here, loosening or tightening heated oxygen sensors.
Before installing a new heated oxygen sensor, (Use with anti-seize lubricant shown below), or equivalent meeting MIL specification MIL-A-907), check exhaust pipes, muffler and mounting for improper attachment, leaks, cracks, damage deterioration.
If anything is found, repair replace damaged parts, heated oxygen sensor 2 (bank 1), heated oxygen sensor 2 (bank 2), be sure to use genuine exhaust system parts or equivalents which are specially designed heat.
Perform the operation with the exhaust system fully cooled, remove exhaust system components using power tool, installation is in the reverse order removal, always replace exhaust gaskets with new ones when reassembling.
Before installing a new heated oxygen sensor, clean and lube the exhaust tube threads using tool, discard any heated oxygen sensor which has been dropped from a height of more than 0, in) onto a hard surface such as a concrete floor; install new one, do not over-torque the heated oxygen sensor.
Resulting in MIL coming on, if any mounting insulator is badly deformed, repair or replace it, the mounting insulators, clean inspect them, temporarily tighten the mounting nuts on the exhaust manifold side and the mounting bolts.
