Manual Description
(SRS) "AIR BAG" and "SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER" 2, precaution for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) "AIR BAG" "SEAT BELT, the Supplemental Restraint System such as AIR BAG” and SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER”, used along, with a front seat belt, helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger certain.

System uses the seat belt switches to determine the front air bag deployment, and may only deploy one front, air bag, depending on the severity of a collision and whether the front occupants belted unbelted, information necessary to service the system safely is included in the SR and SB section Service Manual, to avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury death.

The event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by, improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead personal, injury caused by unintentional activation of the system, pRECAUTIONS WHEN USING POWER TOOLS (AIR OR ELECTRIC) AND HAMMERS.

When working near the Airbag Diagnosis Sensor Unit or other Airbag System sensors with the Ignition ON or engine running, DO NOT use air or electric power tools or strike near sensor(s) with, when using air or electric power tools or hammers, always switch the Ignition OFF, disconnect, battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before performing any service, observe the following precautions when assembling wheel hub.

Perform work in a location that is free from dust, dirt debris, use paper shop towels while performing repairs, any of these parts have been dropped, they must be replaced, always check that the tools used to press-fit the wheel bearing to the brake drum have no wear and deformation.

The actual shapes of Kent-Moore tools may differ from those of special service tools illustrated here, nOISE, VIBRATION AND HARSHNESS (NVH) TROUBLESHOOTING, use chart below to find the cause of the symptom, check the axle and suspension parts for excessive play, wear, damage.

Shake each rear wheel to check for excessive play shown, move wheel hub and bearing assembly in the axial direction by hand, check that the wheel hub bearing operates smoothly, replace the wheel hub assembly if the axial end play exceeds specification, or if the wheel bearing does not.

The wheel hub assembly does not require maintenance, growling noise is emitted from the wheel hub bearing during operation, wheel hub bearing drags turns roughly, remove the wheel and tire assembly using power tool.

Remove hub cap from brake drum, using suitable tool, remove wheel hub lock nut brake drum, do not apply force to the brake drum to avoid damage to the wheel bearing, inner race is separated due to force, replace the wheel bearing with new one.

Remove the wheel studs from brake drum using suitable press, remove studs only when necessary, pull the stud straight out to avoid damage stud, installation is in the reverse order removal.

During the installation, do not damage the wheel bearing seal, do not allow paint to adhere to wheel bearing seal, check each mating surface for water and foreign matter, position the stud (1) to the brake drum.

Opposite end of the stud and by use of a nut (B), tighten press, the stud into brake drum, check that no clearance exists between brake drum, insert brake drum to the spindle with the spindle axis arranged in a straight line.

If the brake drum becomes stuck and must be pulled out, do not use tools, if the brake drum becomes stuck and the wheel bearing inner race is damaged, replace wheel, using the Tool, install hub cap brake drum, do not reuse wheel lock nut.

Tighten the wheel lock nut specified torque, check the rear wheel alignment, remove sensor rotor, using suitable tool (A).
