Precaution for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) "AIR BAG" "SEAT BELT, the Supplemental Restraint System such as AIR BAG” and SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER”, used along, with a front seat belt, helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger certain, to avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury death.
The event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by, improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead personal, injury caused by unintentional activation of the system, pRECAUTIONS WHEN USING POWER TOOLS (AIR OR ELECTRIC) AND HAMMERS.
When working near the Airbag Diagnosis Sensor Unit or other Airbag System sensors with the Ignition ON or engine running, DO NOT use air or electric power tools or strike near sensor(s) with, when using air or electric power tools or hammers, always switch the Ignition OFF, disconnect, battery and wait at least 3 minutes before performing any service, precaution Necessary for Steering Wheel Rotation After Battery Disconnect.
Before removing and installing any control units, first turn the push-button ignition switch to the LOCK position, then disconnect both battery cables, after finishing work, confirm that all control unit connectors are connected properly, then re-connect both, always use CONSULT to perform self-diagnosis as a part of each function inspection after finishing work, a DTC is detected, perform trouble diagnosis according self-diagnosis results.
This vehicle is equipped with a push-button ignition switch and steering lock unit, if the battery is disconnected or discharged, the steering wheel will lock cannot be turned, if turning the steering wheel is required with the battery disconnected or discharged, follow procedure, below before starting repair operation.
Supply power using jumper cables battery discharged, carry the Intelligent Key or insert it to the key slot and turn the push-button ignition switch ACC position, (At this time, the steering lock will be released, when the repair work is completed, re-connect both battery cables.
The push-button ignition switch from ACC position to ON position, then to LOCK position, wheel will lock when the push-button ignition switch is turned LOCK position, perform self-diagnosis check of all control units using CONSULT, when removing or disassembling each component, be careful not to damage or deform it.
May be subject to interference, be sure to protect it with shop cloth, when removing (disengaging) components with a screwdriver or similar tool, be sure wrap component, with a shop cloth or vinyl tape protect it, protect the removed parts with a shop cloth and prevent them being dropped.
Replace a deformed damaged clip, be sure to tighten bolts and nuts securely specified torque, after installation is complete, be sure to check that each part works properly, follow the steps below clean components.
Dip a soft cloth into lukewarm water, wring the water out of the cloth and wipe dirty area, then rub with soft, dry cloth, dip a soft cloth into lukewarm water with mild detergent (concentration: within 2 to 3%) wipe dirty, then dip a cloth into fresh water, wring the water out of the cloth and wipe detergent off.
- For genuine leather seats, use a genuine leather seat cleaner, the actual shapes of Kent-Moore tools may differ from those of special service tools illustrated here, before removing the in-cabin micofilter cover, let the vehicle rest for least 30 minutes.
