Manual Description(SRS) "AIR BAG" and "SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER" 2, precaution Necessary for Steering Wheel Rotation After Battery Disconnect 2, precaution for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) "AIR BAG" "SEAT BELT, the Supplemental Restraint System such as AIR BAG” and SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER”, used along.
With a front seat belt, helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger certain, system uses the seat belt switches to determine the front air bag deployment, and may only deploy one front, air bag, depending on the severity of a collision and whether the front occupants belted unbelted, information necessary to service the system safely is included in the SR and SB section Service Manual.
To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury death, the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be performed by, improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead personal, injury caused by unintentional activation of the system.
PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING POWER TOOLS (AIR OR ELECTRIC) AND HAMMERS, when working near the Airbag Diagnosis Sensor Unit or other Airbag System sensors with the Ignition ON or engine running, DO NOT use air or electric power tools or strike near sensor(s) with, when using air or electric power tools or hammers, always switch the Ignition OFF, disconnect, battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before performing any service.
Precaution Necessary for Steering Wheel Rotation After Battery Disconnect, this Procedure is applied only to models with Intelligent Key system and NATS (NISSAN ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM), remove and install all control units after disconnecting both battery cables with the ignition knob, always use CONSULT to perform self-diagnosis as a part of each function inspection after finishing work.
DTC is detected, perform trouble diagnosis according self-diagnostic results, for models equipped with the Intelligent Key system and NATS, an electrically controlled steering lock mechanism is adopted key cylinder, for this reason, if the battery is disconnected or if the battery is discharged, the steering wheel will lock, steering wheel rotation will become impossible.
If steering wheel rotation is required when battery power is interrupted, follow procedure below before, supply power using jumper cables battery discharged, before removal and installation, the adjustable accelerator and brake pedals must be front, avoid damage from dropping the accelerator pedal assembly during handling.
Keep the accelerator pedal assembly away water, move the accelerator and brake pedals to front most position, disconnect the adjustable pedal electric motor electrical connector, disconnect the adjustable pedal electric motor memory electrical connector (if equipped).
Accelerator pedal position sensor shown, disconnect the adjustable brake pedal cable adjustable, release the two lock tabs, then pull adjustable brake pedal, cable to disconnect it from adjustable accelerator pedal.
Remove the two upper and one lower accelerator pedal nuts, remove the adjustable accelerator pedal assembly, installation is in the reverse order removal, check that the accelerator pedal moves smoothly within specified range.
Check that the accelerator pedal smoothly returns original, perform an electrical inspection of accelerator pedal position, "On Board Diagnosis Function" (VK56DE), when the harness connector of the accelerator pedal position sensor disconnected, perform.
Disconnect the accelerator position sensor electrical connector, pull the connector lock back to unlock connector, pull up on the connector to disconnect it accelerator, when the harness connector of accelerator pedal position.
Sensor is disconnected, perform ″Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning″, "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning" (VQ40DE), or EC-597, "Accelerator Pedal Released, sERVICE DATA AND SPECIFICATIONS (SDS), < SERVICE DATA AND SPECIFICATIONS (SDS).
