Manual Description
SERVICE DATA AND SPECIFICATIONS (SDS) 9, when parking brake pedal is operated with a force of 196 N (20 kg, 44 lb), make sure stroke within, make sure the components are attached properly (check looseness, backlash, etc, check parking brake pedal assembly for bend, damage and cracks, replace necessary.

Check cable for wear and damage, replace necessary, check parking brake switch for malfunction, replace necessary, to perform adjustment operations, remove tire from the vehicle with power tool, insert a deep socket wrench to rotate adjusting nut loosen.

Using wheel nuts, fix the disc rotor to the hub prevent it, remove adjusting hole plug installed on the disc rotor, screwdriver, turn the adjuster in direction A” as shown in the figure until the disc rotor is locked, in the opposite direction by 5 6 notches.

Rotate the disc rotor to make sure there is no drag, adjust parking brake cable follows, operate parking brake pedal 10 or more times with force full, rotate adjusting nut with deep socket adjust pedal stroke.

Do not reuse the adjusting nut after removing it, with the parking brake pedal completely returned, make sure there is no drag rear brake, refer to "Components" and the followings for the symbols figure, remove front kicking plate (driver side).

Remove front body side welt (driver side), remove lower instrument panel (driver side), remove dash side finisher (driver side), remove relay box stay fixing screw.

Remove device assembly mounting bolts, nuts and remove device assembly vehicle, remove front cable mounting bolts, nuts and remove front cable vehicle, refer to "Components" for tightening torque, do not reuse adjusting nut.

: Apply PBC (Poly Butyl Cuprysil) grease silicone-based grease, clean brakes with a vacuum dust collector to minimize the hazard of air borne particles other materials, clean dust on the disc rotor and back plate with a vacuum dust collector, put matching marks on both disc rotor and wheel hub when removing disc rotor.

"Removal and Installation Brake Caliper Assembly", if disc rotor cannot be removed, remove follows, check shoe sliding surface for excessive wear damage, check anti-rattle pin for excessive wear corrosion.

Check either visually or with a vernier caliper to see if there is any excessive wear, cracks, damage, refer to "Components" and apply PBC (Poly Butyl Cuprysil) grease silicone-based grease, to the specified points during assembly, there is difference of adjusters orientation difference.

Part expands when rotating it in the direction shown by, when disassembling the adjuster, apply PBC (Poly Butyl Cuprysil) grease or silicone-based grease threads, after replacing brake shoes or disc rotors, or brakes do not, function well, perform break-in operation follows.

Q Parking brake operating force 84 – 122, after break-in operation, check parking brake pedal stroke of the parking brake, q To prevent the lining from getting too hot, allow a cool off period of approximately 5 minutes after every, q Do not perform excessive break-in operations, because it may cause uneven or early wear lining.
