If there is chipping or bend in tube, replace propeller shaft with, check that the gap is between tube and yoke flange, protect propeller shaft with protector (special service tool) during, the actual shapes of Kent-Moore tools may differ from those of special service tools illustrated here.

NOISE, VIBRATION AND HARSHNESS (NVH) TROUBLESHOOTING, nVH in FAX, RAX, FSU, RSU section, use the chart below to help you find the cause of the symptom, if vibration is present at high speed, inspect propeller shaft runout.

If runout still exceeds specifications, disconnect propeller shaft, at final drive companion flange; then rotate companion flange, inspect propeller shaft tube surface for dents or cracks, shift selector lever to neutral (M/T) N position (A/T).

To keep space for removing propeller shaft, first detach rear-side, mounts locations) of exhaust tube main muffler, lower exhaust tube and main muffler, and support them with jack, remove mounting bolts (4) securing final drive propeller.

Shaft, and remove propeller shaft from vehicle, when installing propeller shaft, handle it carefully, propeller shaft must be installed with packing material attached (delivered condition), install propeller shaft with packing material removed.

After insertion, check that shift control boot does not come, face mark C on final drive joint upward, with mark C facing upward, install final drive so that unbalance, mark A on propeller shaft comes near as possible joint mating.

Tighten mounting bolts (4) securing final drive propeller, remove tape with fixing packing material propeller shaft, remove packing material propeller shaft, return exhaust system to its original position.

Protector (special service tool) is intended to protect propeller shaft, when removing propeller shaft, handle it carefully, attach protector (special service tool) propeller shaft, put matchmarks on flanges and separate propeller shaft.

Use paint or something similar for matchmarks order, shaft, then remove propeller shaft vehicle, remove propeller shaft from protector (special service tool), if runout still exceeds specifications, replace propeller shaft.

If companion flange has been removed, put new alignment marks B, erase original marks B and C from companion flange with suitable solvent, determine the position where maximum runout read dial, position companion flange and propeller shaft using alignment.

Press down propeller shaft with alignment mark C facing, tighten remaining nuts specified torque...
