Manual Description
If you perform maintenance yourself, be sure to follow the correct procedures given these sections, funnel (used only adding brake, toyota Super Long Life Coolant”, or similar high quality ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine.
Is pre-mixed with 50% coolant, is pre-mixed with 55% coolant, funnel (used only adding coolant), fuse with same amperage rating.
Funnel (used only adding power, funnel (used only adding water, the engine compartment contains many mechanisms and fluids that may move suddenly, become hot, or become electrically energized, ● Keep hands, clothing, and tools away from the moving fans engine drive belt.
● Do not leave anything that may burn easily, such as paper or rags, engine, ● Do not smoke, cause sparks or expose an open flame to fuel battery, ● Be extremely cautious when working on the battery, when working near the electric cooling fan radiator grille.
When working on under vehicle, always use automotive jack stands other solid supports, be sure the ENGINE START STOP” switch OFF, with the ENGINE START STOP” switch in IGNITION ON mode, electric.
Cooling fan may automatically start to run if the air conditioning and/or, driving with the air cleaner removed may cause excessive engine wear due dirt, release the lock from the inside of the vehicle open hood, the hood will pop up slightly.
Lift the hood catch lift, check that the hood is fully closed locked, cause an accident, which may result in death serious injury, after installing an engine compartment cover.
Make sure that the cover is securely installed its original position, with the engine at operating temperature and turned off, check oil, sTEP Park the vehicle on level ground, and turning it off, wait more than 5 minutes for oil drain.
Back into the bottom engine, hold a rag under end pull, holding a rag under end, pull, the dipstick out check oil.
The shape of dipstick may differ, depending on the type vehicle, wipe the dipstick reinsert it fully, low level mark, add engine oil.
Make sure to check the oil type and prepare items needed before, add engine oil slowly, checking dipstick, install the filler cap, turning it clockwise, a certain amount of engine oil will be consumed while driving.
● When the engine is new, for example directly after purchasing vehicle, ● When driving at high engine speeds or with a heavy load, when towing, when, driving while accelerating decelerating frequently, ● When leaving the engine idling for a long time, when driving frequently.
● Used engine oil contains potentially harmful contaminants which may cause skin, disorders such as inflammation or skin cancer, so care should be taken avoid, ● Dispose of used oil and filters only in a safe and acceptable manner, pose of used oil and filters in household trash, in sewers or onto ground.
Your Lexus dealer, service station or auto parts store information concerning, ● Do not leave used engine oil within reach children, to prevent serious engine damage.
